Upcoming Show:

The Great Philadelphia Comic Con!

April 22nd-24th, 2016
The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center

It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2015 Great Allentown Comic Con!

First my wife and I want to thank all of you who gave us so much support and well wishes after we told you about our expectant baby boy, Gabriel Kal Wertz (hey we run Comic Cons so Geeky is Cool to us). As you know our events have always been run by my immediate family and I, with a goal to host family focused, kid friendly shows. In a way we like to think of you all as an extended part of our own family, which is why we feel you all deserve to know why we went silent for so long.

Heartbreakingly, in October around the 25 week term we lost our son due to complications from a number of serious birth defects and syndromes. We went to the best hospitals and consulted the best doctors in the country looking for answers and hope. We want to thank the amazing doctors and staff at Boston Children’s, CHOP, St. Christopher’s, and Jefferson Hospitals for helping us through what has been one of the most difficult and painful times of our lives.

2015 was a very difficult and painful year and recovery has been slow. But we are bouncing back. We want you to know we do plan on continuing the shows, starting with our Great Philadelphia Comic Con! this April 22-24th. What about The Great Allentown Comic Con! you ask? Well, unfortunately due to our time in hospitals and the grief that followed, we missed our opportunity to secure a date in 2016 at any of the local venues. While we are looking to do something, be it a co-promotion such as a store signing in the Lehigh Valley, we cannot say when it will be at this time. But the show will happen again we promise.

Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that there are some individuals, who despite knowing the details of the tragedy we went through, have decided to attack us for having cancelled our event to focus on ourselves and heal. It is sad that there are such people in the world, who see pain and feel the need to inflict more through lies just to make themselves feel better for their own failures and inadequacies in life. As painful as it has been, we have taken exceptional comfort in the kind thoughts and words you all showed us so many months ago before tragedy struck my family.

And so we appreciate and hope for your continued support and strongly urge everyone to pre-purchase tickets to the Great Philadelphia Comic Con! We have some really awesome guests that we recently announced and even more in the pipeline that we plan to announce soon. Advanced ticket sales go a long way in backing the show and helping us get the guests you request and want to see attend our shows.

So please visit for more information on guests, to pre-purchase your ticket(s), and sign up for our newsletter if you haven’t already.

And again, thank you for your support and understanding. We hope to see you in April and beyond!
